Silver Shadow

Silversea Cruises is mostly a privately-owned luxury cruise line whose vessels are listed in Berlitz’s five-star rating. Though it is an expensive product on paper, Silversea’s all-inclusive pricing offers passengers great value for their money. Gratuities, port charges and alcoholic beverages (including wine at lunch and dinner) are all included in the cost of the cruise. In addition, there is a complimentary shoreside Silversea experience on selected voyages. In 2008, the line introduced Personalized Voyages, a programme that allows cruisers to choose their embarkation/disembarkation ports, regardless of the cruise lengths and itineraries shown in the brochure, essentially allowing them to create their own voyages.

Silver Shadow, like its sister ship, the Silver Whisper, is larger than the other ships in the Silversea fleet, and is an all-suite, all-inclusive, all-frills vessel, boasting the highest space-to-passenger ratio.

Passengers are affluent, skewed to the professional (many of them Fortune 500) types, in the somewhat older age range when compared to that on larger mainstream ships, and are mostly repeat passengers. Usually, around half of the passengers onboard are from North America, with the other half coming from all over the world, predominantly from the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia.

Silversea allows passengers to bring their favourite alcohol onboard for consumption and without corkage fees. Silversea does not sell alcohol onboard its ships.
