Built in Italy in 1997, Rotterdam features fine art and antiques, an internet center, and a spa and fitness center. She is named for SS Rotterdam of 1959, and also named after the city of Rotterdam, Netherlands. Rotterdam carries an art collection onboard worth over US$2 million.
Rotterdam sails around Europe during the summer and South America in the winter.
Holland America does not allow liquor to be brought onboard the ship and when it is purchased in port or onboard the ship’s duty free shop, it will be retained until the last day of the cruise. Wine and champagne are however allowed, with a corkage fee of USD18.
