Orion

Orion was a vessel owned by Orion Expedition Cruises, an Australian-based luxury expedition cruise line, that has since been sold to Lindblad Expeditions. Lindblad Expeditions took over operations in March 2014, and now operates Orion as the National Geographic Orion.

National Geographic Orion was newly equipped with kayaks, a state-of the-art ROV (remote operated vehicle reaching depths of 330 metres), full snorkelling gear for all, and a SCUBA program that can accommodate up to 24 divers at a time. The specialist expedition team will be expanded and feature a National Geographic photographer on most departures.

Orion‘s guests are typically mature singles, couples and alumni who prefer great comfort and service with like-minded travellers. Orion boosts a repeat patronage rate of 80%.
