Dawn Princess is a Panamax-class ship that fits within Princess Cruises’ mid range collection of ships. Dawn Princess joined her sister ship, the Sun Princess, as an Australian-based Princess Cruises ship in October 2008.
Homeport in Melbourne, the Dawn Princess’ passengers are mostly from Australia and made up of a widespread passenger demographic, from solo travellers to family groups especially multi-generational family groups.
Princess Cruises does not allow passengers to bring liquor onboard and even that purchased onboard the duty free shop is retained until the last day of the cruise. Wine or champagne brought onboard at embarkation or in port are however allowed in the onboard restaurants with a corkage charge of AUD15 and limited to one per person (no larger than 750ml).
