Carnival Spirit

Carnival Cruise Line, a traditionally North American line, ventured outside North America for the first time with Carnival Spirit in Australasia, and visited New Zealand for the first time in February 2013.

Carnival Spirit started its Australasian life in Sydney in October 2012 and is the youngest ship based in this part of the world. Like the other ships in the fleet, Carnival Spirit is family friendly, boasting a 22-metre cockscrew waterslide alongside four pools, four hot tubs, mini-golf and so forth. Carnival Spirit was “Australianised” prior to its arrival down under, with subtle changes to the children’s programme, nightly entertainment, and food and drinks which features more local beer and wine.

Passengers are predominantly Australians and Kiwis, and multi-generational family groups are not uncommon.

Passengers are not allowed to bring alcohol onboard the ship.
