Aurora was christened on 27th April 2000 by HRH Princess Anne, and is the fifth largest of seven ships currently in service with P&O Cruises. She is also the sister ship of MV Oriana, although she has a larger tonnage partly due to the fact that she has an enclosed centre swimming pool. Unlike some of the ships within the P&O family, Aurora is family friendly with children’s clubs and a dedicated family swimming pool.

Aurora tends to visit New Zealand on a Round the World voyage, and will carry a majority of British passengers.

Passengers are welcome to bring a small amount of alcohol with them onboard. While there is no restriction to the amount that can be carried onboard, passengers should be aware of the below policies:

  • P&O Cruises reserve the right to remove alcohol at the gangway should the need arise.
  • Should you wish to take wine or champagne onboard to consume in a restaurant, you will be subject to a £10 corkage charge.
  • Should you wish to take wine or champagne onboard to celebrate an event, the number of bottles you may take on will be at the port authorities discretion.
