Amadea

Amadea is one of three ships in Phoenix Reisen’s fleet.

Introduced in 1991 as the Asuka, she was built for the domestic Japanese market with Yusen Cruises Company Limited, which is part of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) Group who also owns Crystal Cruises. As a result, there are similarities in the design of Amadea and some of the Crystal ships.

In 2006, she was sold to Phoenix Reisen and now services the German-speaking market.

Amadea is considered a more upscale vessel than the other ships in the Phoenix Reisen fleet with a higher level of service and cuisine to match.

Amadea visits New Zealand on a round-the-world cruise, and will predominantly carry German-speaking passengers.
